Allaw discusses in China Cooperation with Chinese Petroleum Companies for Refinery
Syrian Minister of Petroleum Sufian Allaw discussed on Friday with heads of Chinese petroleum companies prospects of cooperation between his ministry and these companies regarding prospecting bids in land and sea, in addition to establishing a refinery.
Talks during the meeting also discussed the possibility of establishing a research center in Syria and supporting existing training centers.
The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of the Chinese National Petroleum Company (CNPC), Sinopec (China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation) and Sinochem Corporation.
During visits to petroleum fields and research centers, Minister Allaw discussed the possibility of establishing partnerships in manufacturing equipment and spare parts for petroleum industries in Syria.
Earlier on Thursday, the Minister participated in the International Heavy Oil Forum at the 2nd China International Petroleum Equipment and Heavy Oil Technology Exhibition, which was held in the city of Panjin.
