Inauguration of Production kick off in Abu-Kamal Oil Company with 1000 Barrel a day with expectations to reach 5000 in 2014
Eng. Sufian Allaw inaugurated today Production kick off in oil fields of Abu-Kamal Oil Company in Deir al-Zour with 1.000 barrel a day in South al-Kamsheh Plant which was developed by the company through digging additional wells and establishing Production plant to reach 5.000 barrel a day in 2014.
Abu-Kamal Oil Company is a joint venture was established between GPC and Russian Tat Naft Company based on Oil Exploration and Developing and Production Contract which was approved by Legislative Law 24 in 2005.
Allaw indicated that his ministry seek to keep oil production stability in Syria and increasing it instead of decreasing it through announcing new areas for exploration and developing and production and developing the current fields.
Allaw clarified that Oil production of abu-Kamal Company is an indication about existing huge oil reserves and new areas adding that produced oil of al-Kamsheh field is light and excellent one and have positive indications on the region.
Sergi Kurbitchiko Russian ambassador to Damascus said that Syrian Russian Relations is developing continuously in all areas adding that Energy cooperation is the most important one between the two countries and Russian companies make use of good investment environment in Syria.
Khisamouf Russian TatNaft Manager said that the current production of oil in abu-Kamal oil Company is a start one with the increase in digging wells in development area and studying the Seismic surveys and the initial studies for exploration results in the region stressing the company’s interest in all announcements by the ministry about new areas especially that are closed to Block that we currently invest.
Tatneft Oil Company was the first such Russian company to discover an oil field in Syria at the Euphrates valley. It continues excavation at the 1900-square-meters 27 Block.
