Cabinet agrees to extend the contracts between the Syrian Oil Company and some companies service contracts

The Cabinet approved the proposal of the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources and Economic Commission proposal to extend the contracts between the Syrian Oil Company and some companies service contracts and modify the terms of the contract so that suit the national interest and increase the share of the proceeds Syria productivity.

French TotalFinaElf and Dutch Shell conducted talks with the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources to extend their contract expected to be finished within the coming period. the Oil Ministry sources welcomed the continuing cooperation with these two companies according to the terms of serving the interests of the country, pointing out that the contracts signed with two companies to extend the work permit for a period ranging between five and ten years of the request by the company concerned and after approval by the Syrian government.
