Natural Gas production started in Abu Rabah field in Homs by 5.5 million cubic meter capacity per day
Oil and Mineral Resources ministry announced the starting of natural gas production in Abu Rabah Gas field of the gas project in south of central area which provides the national gas network with about 1.5 to 2 million cubic meter of gas daily in addition to 1200 – 1400 barrel of Capacitors per day.
Eng. Sufian Allao minister of oil and mineral resources said in a statement that the project is a first step of series of national gas projects in Syria including an establishment in south of central region which contains a main factory with 7.5 million cubic meter daily capacity which will come from three stations named Abu Rabah which is the main , and two secondary station ; Qumqum and north al-Mafeid.
Allao added that Abu Rabah station will produce between 5 to 5.5 million cubic meters per day, where gas will be treated, purified of liquids , sent to gas factory south of central region to have clean gas and capacitors and then sent to national gas network.
Allao appreciated the national worker efforts in Syrian Gas, Ouis and Story trans Gas companies in achieving Abu Rabah station in providing treatment for 2 million cubic meter of gas and transfer it to the national gas network to provide the electricity factories before installing the factory in the mid of this year and stop exporting of gas.
The minister assured that the first tests on the operation in the mid of last month proofed effectiveness.
