Iraqi spokesman: the formation of committees with Syria and Jordan to discuss the joint exploitation of oil fields AFP

A Spokesman for the Iraqi Oil Ministry annonced  the formation of a joint working committees with Syria and Jordan to discuss the joint exploitation of oil fields to serve the common interests.

 


Quoted by Agence France-Presse (AFP) spokesman as saying, "formed a joint working committees with Syria, which shares with Iraq Safia  oil field , and Jordan, which shares with it  in Ruqat Arrisha  exploratory oil, with the aim of coordination to serve the common interests" .

The estimated daily output of Iraq three million barrels, and constitute 94 percent of the proceeds of the country, as Iraq has the third oil reserves in the world is estimated at 115 billion barrels after Saudi Arabia and Iran, while the production of Syria's oil 387 thousand barrels currently, by the reduced recently by 30 %, after the imposition of Western sanctions and the U.S. on Syrian oil.
