Ministry of Oil to build a pipeline to transport oil through the Syrian port

The Oil Ministry announced its intention to create a length of 1800 km pipeline to transport Iraqi oil through the Syrian port of Banias, with a capacity 2.5 million barrels per day, confirming that the energy export from the ports of Basra will reach five million barrels per day in mid-2013.

 

 


The Director General of the Department contracts and licenses in the Ministry Abdul-Mahdi al-Amidi said that "The oil ministry will announce at the promotion during the next few days, for companies wishing to invest in the establishment of an oil pipeline with a length of 1,800 km to export crude oil from areas of southern Iraq towards the Syrian port of Banias card 2.5 million barrels a day. "

 

The Amidi, that "the new line will connect the tube Turkey through a pipeline flexibility to be exploited in case of emergency to transport oil from Kirkuk to Basra or from Basra to the Turkish port of Ceyhan," noting that "the cost of the establishment of the new line will be the investor, without specifying the proportion of profits that will get the investor ".
