About 2 mln bbls light crude offered from Libya-trade

About 2 million barrels of very light crude oil have been offered from Libya via a tender, making it the largest volume to come to market since war erupted in February, trade sources said on Friday

“The volume is more or less 2 million barrels. It is a mix of very light crude so the oil is a condensate grade,” one of the sources said. “The loading date is open.”

The source said the oil would come from storage tanks rather than fresh output from oilfields.

A very limited number of oil companies have been invited.

The sources said the condensate grade oil would be loaded from the western border of Libya.

It is not clear who is selling the oil.

Libya is one of the 12 members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and holder of Africa’s biggest oil reserves.
