12  global companies bought terms of tender for exploration of oil and gas in three blocks in the Syrian economic waters in Mediterranean

 

 

 

 

Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources extended deadline for the submission of corporate of documents which qualify them to participate in the international tender for prospecting and exploration in three blocks in the Syrian economic waters in the Mediterranean Sea to become 15/09/2011 instead of 01/08/2011, while maintaining the tender closing date and on 5/10/2011.

 

Sources of General Petroleum Corporation said that this extension is to allow the largest possible number of companies interested in the announcement issued by the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources No. 81 Date 3/24/2011 on exploration and drilling for oil and gas in three blocks freely in the territorial sea and exclusive economic zone of the Republic Syrian Arab To the principle of competition,

 

 

According to GPC , the 12 companies have so far bought advertising the book of terms.
Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and GPC announced in March, launch of an international tender for the work of prospecting, exploration and exploitation of oil and gas resources in some areas of territorial sea and exclusive economic waters of the Syrian Arab Republic in the Mediterranean.

 

The announcement includes a presentation of three marine areas (Block I – Block II, Block III) with an approximate area of about 3000 km 2 for one block and starts from the date of announcement 24.03.2011 for a period of about six months were identified as the closing date as of 05/10/2011.

 

 

The modern American studies recently confirmed the discovery of gas and oil treasure in a huge basin of the Mediterranean estimated reserves to 122 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 107 billion barrels of oil.
