Exact details of the oil pipeline fire incident … losses of less than 100 barrels … less than 3 hours to put out the fire .. .. oil production did not stop .. the pipeline repair within 56 hours

people are Busy about the fire, which broke out in a pipeline in Deir ez-Zor and did not notice the remarkable craft and tremendous speed during which it was controlled on the fire with no damage or casualties ,where burned oil quantities as a result of the fire are not exceed 100 barrels and oil production continued as usual without interruption

 

 

This distinguish process did not come from a vacuum but were the result of significant efforts have been made by several sides, including the foreign partner and real-time follow-up from the Oil Ministry and GPC and other …

 

To clarify the exact details of the process of extinguishing the fire “Syria Oil” interviewed Saeed Heneidi Chairman AFPC at the scene, who said:

First of all I would like to thank all the technical staff in the Directorate of Operations fields in Deir ez Zor and technical personnel in Damascus, which has since the incident, that started around 12 of Tuesday night, 12 / 7 and through their strong efforts, and their cooperation to follow all the procedures for crisis management as planned in AFPC during continuous televised meeting between Damascus and the fields we can in fact record time no more than 3 hours to extinguish the fire which was possible to expand more and cause largest damage and most importantly more that did not happen to have any injuries to workers who have extinguished the fire and the physical damage was minimal to the point that it hardly remember where we estimated the amount of burned oil for less than 100 barrels.

 

 

 

Initial procedures

Around mid night we were informed about the fire and was implemented all procedures known to our technical staff , which were full followed ,so that they isolate the pipeline and fire drilling and filling vehicles were called to the area and made great efforts and at 3 and a half of dawn on Wednesday, the fire was under control.

  

Cause of the fire

Currently, there are harvest, there are remnants of grass around, which may be the direct cause of the fire around area of isolation , because burned pipeline was under maintenance operations to isolate the oil spills and we were watching it continuously, and may be a fire in these herbs led to ignition of oil .. But now we immediately upon completion of maintenance operations which we expect to finish them within 48 hours we will begin the process of a full investigations to find out the reasons that led to this problem

 .

The production was Not affected and repair the pipeline within 56 hours

Absolutely we have enough absorptive capacity for a period ranging between 4 to 5 days and therefore production was not affected, where we do not stop any of the wells and production processes continued and at the same time if we’re late out maintenance we have the possibility to turn the pump to the line up we can use for a period may last months, but We believe that during the 48 hours to a maximum of 56 hours things should be back to what it was before.. Noting that during short period of time not exceeding 15 hours it has been replaced by 4 to 5 electricity poles, and the network was isolated and replaced the damaged electric poles

 

 

Beginning of the problem
This pipeline is under maintenance of leakage which was discovered by intelligent detect process , we have identified that leakage in this area and was treated by placing rubber bond surrounded by a bond of steel and left area open to control the leakage that was treated as the line submerged land deeply about one meter and a half and at the same time, there’s another point nearby and wait for the arrival of needed equipment in the coming weeks for maintenance to be re-buried with soil .
