Tunisian HBS company wins Bloc No. 7 and is preparing to sign the contract with the GPC

HBS Tunisian Company won the exploration for oil and gas in block No. 7 / /, after completing the General Petroleum Corporation the study and evaluation of the offers of international companies developed for this block which covers an area about 6500 km 2 located in the eastern part of Syria within the territory of the provinces of Hasaka, Deir Ezzor and adjacent to the borders of Iraq.

 

 

GPC informed HBS about its winning of the tender, and are now negotiating a draft contract discussing with representatives of the above company to get to the final version and the preparation of all relevant documents for the signing of the contract.

12 international companies from different nationalities made their offers to the global tender for oil exploration and development and production in the eight new blocks, covering about 40 percent of the area of Syria announced by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and the General Organization of Petroleum in March 2010.

 

The French company Total and Canadian Petro-Canada and Italy’s INA in partnership with British Gulfsands are leading companies which submitted their offers for this tender as well as companies such as CNPC of China and Lawn Energy – Syria Branch of Canadian and UAE Dana Gas, and HBS Tunisian and Pico Egyptian ,Azvenska Swedish and IPR America and Sideragon Energy French and Flournoy Oil & Gas.
