Scientific symposium on the latest technologies currently used in the petroleum refining industry
General Corporation t for Oil Refining and distribution of oil derivatives, hosted a scientific symposium held by company Haldor Topsoe A / S on the latest technologies currently used in the petroleum refining industry with the participation of a group of engineers and technicians from the refineries of Homs and Banias and the Syrian Gas Company and the General Corporation for Oil Refining Homs,
Eng Noureddine Makhlouf Director-General of the General Corporation for Oil Refining and distribution of oil derivatives, stressed the importance of holding such conferences in particular with regard to the latest scientific findings in the field of green technology and solutions that offer environmentally friendly and reduce the negative effects of the oil refining industry while maintaining the productive capacity of oil refineries .
He pointed to the importance of interaction and benefit from the presence of experts from the Danish company Haldor Topsoe to understand what the green technology on display.
For his part, Eng. Wael Tabrh CEO Cyrus and the Under-company Haldor Topsoe A / S in Syria pointed to the company’s eagerness to present their latest findings of science in the petroleum refining industry and the development of oil refineries and so as to increase energy production and preservation of the environment and learn the latest techniques owned by Haldor Topsoe A / S Denmark.
He added that the possibility of applying this technology possible in the HRC as to lighten the negative environmental impacts from the city of Homs, in addition to the need to take this new technology into account when creating a new oil refinery in Syria.
The seminar included a series of scientific lectures concerning the following topics:
1 – Wet Gas Sulphuric Acid, which draw the sulfur gases from contaminated and produce sulfuric acid and are preferred to modern technology, Claus Unit
2- The latest developments on the technology and mass media hydrogenation and cracking.
3-Modify and develop and hydrogenation units for the production of diesel.
4-hydrogen production technology and Osaith.
