On Tuesday…Syria and India to sign MOU to develop phosphate and fertilizer industry in Syria
In oil ministry on Tuesday a Memorandum of Understanding between Syrian and Indian Governments for the developing of phosphate and fertilizer industry in Syria through the establishment of joint ventures investment projects related to this industry.
The cooperation under the MOU to assess possible options technically and economically for the developing of sectors of phosphate fertilizers in Syria and the establishment of a growth industry for the phosphoric acid and phosphate fertilizers in addition to developing of phosphate mines and their means of transport and research in securing sources of water and energy to ensure the needs of the phosphate industry and other relevant issues.
The Ministry of oil raised last month the prices of phosphate by 10$ per ton from $ 85 to $ 95 per ton..
phosphate production in Syria during last month amounted to 294,263 tons export, including 272,358 tons valued at 15.791 million euros, while domestic sales reached to 16 991 tons valued at 31.433 million Syian pounds.
foreign sales until the month of August 2010 amounted to exported 2.05 million tons worth 5.9 billion Syrian pounds, equivalent to 100 million euros and an implementation rate exceeded 167% of the amount and 194% of value.
