Awarding of Block No. 3 to the companies of Petro-Canada and Total
The
General Petroleum Corporation has completed the process
of studying and evaluation of the international
companies’ offers for the Block No. 3 which covers an
area of about 10. 400 km2 located in the north east of
the country within the territory of Al Hasaka and Alraqa
that is adjacent to the Turkish border.

Minister, Adel Safar, and Director of the Middle East
Region at Total Company for Oil Exploration and
Production, Arnaud Breuillac , on Tuesday
discussed prospects of cooperation, stressing the
importance of establishing long-term partnership between
Total and the Syrian oil companies.

kilometers and cross the Euphrates River at a depth of
10 meters from the The bottom of the river, which was
replaced in order to prevent any contamination or a leak
in the Euphrates River by the transfer of oil produced
from the fields of Deir ez-Zor Petroleum company .

Assembly approved on Monday during a session chaired by Speaker of the Assembly
Dr. Mahmoud al-Abrash a bill for approving the cooperation frame agreement
between General Petroluem Corporation and Total E&P Syrie.

High Council during its meeting headed by Premier Mohammed Naji Ottri on
8/4/2009 agreed on a memorandum of Syrian Investment Body to give Total
French Company distinctions of 5 subject of Investment Law NO.10 of 2008
about mineral oil mix project.
