Syria Signs Two 20-Year Oil and Gas Contracts with Shell

The Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources signed two 20-year contracts with Shell for Oil and Gas exploration in the northeast ( Block 13 & 15).

Under the first contract, Shell will conduct exploration and exploitation work in an area extending from southwest of Deir Ezzor 450 kilometers northeast of Damascus, to the Iraqi border, The second deal, focuses on an area just south of Palmyra, 256 kilometers north of Damascus.

The signature ceremony was held at  the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources with the presence of  H.E. Eng. Sufian Al-Alao, the Minister of Oil, Mr. Ahmed Moalla , head of the Syrian Petroleum  Company, Mr. Rauel Rastucci, Shell Executive Deputy and Mr, Campbell Keir Syria Shell General Manager.

The ceremony was followed by a dinner attended by governmental officials and SSPD staff.
