Field & Reservoir Monitoring and EOR Workshop

Within its efforts of knowledge transfer, Total E&P Syrie organized on July 28th a workshop on “Field & Reservoir Monitoring and EOR” at Grand Bloudan Hotel.

The workshop was attended by Dr. Hassan ZEINAB : Deputy Minister of oil and Mineral Resources, Mr. Omar AL HAMAD: General Manager of Syrian Petroleum Company, Dr. Feras KADDOUR: Chairman of Deir Ez Zor Petroleum Company, Chairmen of Oil Companies in Syria and managers from SPC.

Through this workshop, Total provided a presentation of its latest technologies in the field of Reservoir Monitoring and EOR. The workshop included two major topics:
1. Total experience in Field & Reservoir Monitoring
2. EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery):
• How to improve recovery at reservoir scale
• Overview of Total experience in EOR and heavy oil
• Example of 3 ongoing projects

These subjects were presented by two experts from Total:
• Jerome VIDAL: Head of Reservoir Management Methods in TOTAL S.A. since 2005. He has more than 25 years experience, he worked also as a Planning & Geosciences Manager in Total E&P Yemen, and from 1999 to 2003 he was the business area correspondent of Gabon and Cameroon within the Directorate “Field Reserves Development”.
• Alain LABASTIE: Head of EOR Methods Department in Total. He has more than 30 years of experience in various domains of Reservoir Engineering in technical and managerial positions. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Offshore Technology Conference (the biggest conference and exhibition in the oil and gas industry).
