Oil Minister: Plan to raise the production capacity factor for natural gas to 36 million cubic meter in 2011 after the entering of two new labs

Minister of oil and mineral resources Eng. Sufian Allaw said that the ministry plans to raise the productive capacity of gas plants to 36 million cubic meters a day by the end of 2011. after operating of two additional labs for gas production.

 

 

Allaw added to People Assembly that , ” Oil Ministry announced days ago for a major project to provide the industrial city of Adra by gas and that it will in the near future provide buses for public transport and 10 thousand cars with gas in Damascus in addition to provide ceramics factories.”

 
Syria currently imports from Egypt through the Arab gas pipeline approximately 5.2 million cubic meters per day which helps to expand the uses of gas in the next phase, and provide the Ministry of Oil a large part of the gas needed to run power plants.

 

 

According to official reports that the production Syria of gas is growing and constantly evolving, as has recently launched a Gas Plant Ebla in the Alfrqls in Homs and put the service to produce about 5.2 million cu m of gas clean day, condensate and domestic gas, as well as the possibility to finalize the draft Gas Plant Hayan in the south of Palmyra and place it in the service at the end of this year a production capacity of 5.3 million cubic meters of clean gas per day.

 

Syria produces gas is currently about 25 million cubic meters daily, of which about 18 to 19 million cubic meters per day of clean gas.
