Ninth Arab Energy Conference Concluded in Doha, with the participation of Syria and large number of ministers and heads of delegations, economists and energy experts discussed the Arab countries where the key themes of interest to producing and exporting countries and consuming energy and has a constructive discussion.
In the intervention of Dr. Ibrahim Haddad, an adviser to Prime Minister on Energy and Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources said that the previous stages and methods of production of oil and industry and many studies and begin analysis, followed by exploratory drilling, extraction and transportation of oil and derivatives industry and transport.
He referred to the existence of many agreements of Arab cooperation in this field, whether between companies or institutions, including financial and administrative aspects, it does not touch the aspects of manufacturing of the tools of petroleum adding that since more than sixty years of oil production in the Arab world could not carry out the projects without relying on others .
According to Haddad there were about 35 cooperation agreements Arab in the energy field, including nine of the affected industry, the materials used in the production of energy and superficial, pointing out that 58 percent of the world’s reserves of oil exist in the Arab world and that there are 2278 rigs working in the world, there are only 315 rigs only in the Middle East and Africa, covering all the Arab countries by up to 14 per cent of the world’s drilling rigs
the Conference recommended in its final Statement a series of recommendations were distributed among nine major items in the field of energy sources continued the conference to submit papers that show the efforts made by Arab countries to maximize its energy sources, fossil and strive to maintain its privileged in the petroleum industry in the various rings, particularly in the area of preserve reserves and increase stability by intensifying the activities of prospecting and exploration
Expansion in the use of natural gas as fuel-friendly environment
The Conference concluded that the use of advanced technologies relevant extraction oil enhanced and other techniques that can contribute in enhancing the oil reserves, enhanced and encouraged Arab states to expand the use of natural gas as fuel-friendly environment in the various fields, particularly in power generation and complete the interconnection of gas networks between the Arab countries to promote trade, including gas and support of their common interests.
