ِAllaw: Soon to provide Adra Industrial City by gas for the operation of industrial plants instead of fuel

Eng. Sufian Allaw Oil Minister said the ministry intends to provide Adra industrial city and ceramic plants with gas, pointing out that this would reduce fuel import, and provides more cost-effective for industrial establishments.

 

 


Allaw said in a press statement that “the Economic Committee of Cabinets approved a memorandum of the Ministry of Oil to provide Adra industrial city and ceramic plants and buses by gas,” adding that “The Ministry is to announce the implementation of the project, which would reduce the importation of fuel, which is supported by the State the highest cost-effective and less expensive for the industry. ”

Allaw said that “the ministry had large amounts of gas than needed of power plants and can provide important sectors,” pointing out that “it reduces the import of oil derivatives, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions and health effects, and provides treasury large sums in foreign currencies.”

 

Oil Ministry announced recently that Syria has large reserves of gas, with an estimated recoverable from about 284 billion Cubic Meters , indicating that this reserve could rise with new discoveries expected, as it seeks to produce 160 billion m 3 of gas from 2009 to 2025.

 
The production of natural gas in Syria recently was about 25 million cubic meters per day, while imports 2.5 million cubic meters per day of Egyptian natural gas.
