Syrian General Petroleum Corporation announced that , Oil exploration results indicate no depletion of the Syrian oil in the near future with the possibility of lifting the oil fields to yield more than it has reached and the launch of operations ranging from exploration of new land and access to the sea.

The Director-General GPC Ali Abbas said “the results of drilling in the fields of the AFPC show the existence of special areas of need for oil exploration,” , adding that “the foreign oil companies, which plan to extract oil in Syria indicate the possibility of oil extraction by 40% in many regions. ”
Abbas said that “the big discoveries of the future is gas, seismic studies indicated additional opportunities to recover hydrocarbon sources and that attracted big companies.”

He said that “The Ministry is planning that the level of Syria’s oil production in 2025 will be between 240 -250 thousand barrels per day and this production will be sufficient to meet the needs of existing refineries Banias and Homs, but most of that heavy oil production would be warranted in the future to import light oil .
