National Energy Conference calls for investing Syria’s strategic position to transport energy

National Energy Conference on Sunday called for investing Syria’s strategic position to transport and cross the electric, renewable and Hydro carbonic energy resources through power linkage with Arab and regional countries.

 

 

At a final session, the two-day conference recommended to apply the economic independence principle and reach a balanced state in the prices of power holders.

 

It also called for diversifying the energy resources including the nuclear energy as one option of future providers and make use of the International Atomic Energy Agency on infrastructure and the adoption of coal in electricity.

 
Activities of National Energy Conference on the 2nd day focused on energy economies, Syria’s role as a center for crossing electric and petroleum energies, economic administration of production and consumption and the impacts of Arab and regional energy situations on Syria as well as building electric stations with proper power.

 

 

The conference dealt with the role of training and rehabilitation in raising the level of performance and profit in addition to public universities’ role in teaching the scientific concepts and bases of the energy relevant courses, generating, contributing and investing it through various resources as well as the relation between the energy and environment.

 

 

Participants in the conference reviewed the current situation of Arab electric linking projects such as the semi-regional electric linkage among a number of Arab countries.

 

 

They called for developing infrastructure to attract countries and companies into Syria for crossing their oil products as well as giving more attention to “al-Mashreq Gas” project to be a regional network that links the gas of Iraq and Arab Gulf with Europe via Syria.

 

 

The participants discussed the impacts of regional, Arab and international situation of energy on Syria through the global, regional and local current situation of energy, as well as Arab countries’ role in producing energy and the global reserves of primary energy and renewable energy resources and the effect of future changes on energy field on Syria.
