Prime Minister Engineer Naji Otri held talks here today with the visiting Azeri Minister of Industry and Energy, Natig Aliyev, on cooperation relations between Syria and Azerbaijan and ways of upgrading them in all fields.

The talks focused at bilateral cooperation expansion in energy, oil, gas sectors, Azeri gas export to Syria, as well as at the strengthening of contacts among gas companies in both Countries as far as training, rehabilitation levels, gas exploration and production as well.

Both sides underlined the importance of investing in the available resources and potentialities in Syria and Azerbaijan in the interest of economic, and trade cooperation, establishing investment and industrial partnerships, reactivating businessmen role of both Countries.

Dardari Discusses with Aliyev Means of Cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdullah Dardari highlighted the Syrian- Azeri deep-rooted relations, indicating to the importance of developing economic, commercial and industrial relations and expanding their prospects.

Dardari, during his meeting with Aliyev, called for establishing Syrian- Azeri joint companies in the field of oil and gas industry as well as cooperating in scientific research in oil sectors and exchanging expertise and technologies.

Talks during the meeting dealt with mechanisms of exporting Azeri gas to Syria and activating the work of the Syrian- Azerbi joint committees and the signed agreements, in addition to signing new agreements particularly in the field of gas and oil that will enhance cooperation.
