Syrian-Libyan Higher Committee stresses the importance of cooperation in the oil and gas and mineral resources Syrian-Libyan Higher Committee held in Tripoli on 27 and 28 / 2 2010 under the chairmanship of Prime Ministers of both countries stressed the importance of cooperation in the oil, gas and mineral resources , where the two sides confirmed the possibility of establishing relations of cooperation in oil and mineral resources.

The Committee also emphasized to encourage the participation of public and private companies in both countries to contribute to the exploration and production of oil, gas and mineral wealth and the supply of equipment and materials and to study the possibility of establishing joint companies carrying out oil and gas projects in both countries or outside in addition to exchanging expertise, training and rehabilitation in the areas of contracting with companies investment in exploration and development and development of oil fields.

 
The Committee noted to the importance of promoting the products of mineral resources such as marble and volcanic tuff and plaster, asphalt and phosphate for export to the Libyan market and any possible third markets, particularly the African markets and cooperation in the field of mineral resources surveys and geological studies and exploration for underground resources using modern techniques and exchange of experiences, coordination and consultation on the environmental aspects for topics related to mineral resources, and in this regard will be submitted on the Syrian side a draft memorandum of understanding in this area.
