Syria Shell participated in supporting 1st International development conference in Syria /civil society role in Syria /in Four Seasons Hotel in 23-24th of January under the patronage of Mrs. Asma Assad the Wife of Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Shell participated in the two days of the conference ..
Lina Abdul Khaleq Head of Intelaqa Program provided an over view on the mechanism and the goals of the program in supporting youth people in Syria and the cooperation with governments and NGOs and ways of participating in it.
In the 2nd day Albert Wang head of developing of foreign relations in Shell presented in the workshop /the Private sector role in Supporting NGOs /an over view on sustainable development in Shell stressing the importance of the private sector role in Supporting and developing NGOs adding that Shell’s work principles give much care for supporting NGOs that work on development areas helping in developing society like education, health, environment and work and road Safety and other areas.
Shell give much care towards social responsibilities and participation with government and NGOs.
This active participation by Syria Shell in the Conference is part of Shell plan of Social Development in Syria 2010.
