OAPEC reviews preparations for Copenhagen summit .. with the participation of Allaw

The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) is to review, in a meeting in Cairo on December 5, preparations for the climate change summit due in Copenhagen, the latest developments on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and issues relating to the Kyoto protocol.
An OAPEC statement said the meeting would be presided by Egyptian Minister of Oil Samih Fahmi, whose country currently holds the presidency, and review OAPEC Secretariat activities in 2009.
It added the executive office’s 125th meeting would be held December 2, to prepare for the ministerial meeting.
The statement added that the winners of the 2008 research competition on CO2 capture and storage would be awarded.
The winner research papers are published both on the OAPEC webpage and the last two issues of the “Oil and Arab Cooperation” quarterly journal, in Arabic.
