Eng. Sufian Allaw Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources discussed with Turkish Ambassador in Damascus Omer Un Hon Cooperation Horizons in Oil and Gas fields between the two countries.

The two parts discussed the ways of enhancing cooperation in Oil and Gas fields and activating Signed agreements between the two countries that meet the interests of both countries.

 
Syria and Turkey are linked to three agreements in Gas and Oil areas :

 
The first agreement aims to establishing Syrian Turkish Joint venture for Oil Exploration and Production on Boarders areas and developing gas and oil fields in those areas.

The second agreement aims to joint the gas nets between the two countries and finishing it at the end of 2011 to make gas shipment from Turkey and neighboring countries /Iran and Azerbaijan / to Syria and other Arab countries is possible and vice versa.

 
The third agreement aims to buy quantities of gas for five years extendable from Turkey.
