In cooperation with Total E&P Syrie, Syria Shell, al-Furat and Deir al-zour oil companies ,al-Qunaitra Province held a festival on the occasion of Arab Environment Day with slogan ” Education.. for Sustainable development ” and Opening of “Environment for everyone ” Park with participating of official activities ,Bodies, Organizations and Civil Societies.
Kawkab Addaya State Minster of Environment Affairs said that the importance of this day is represented in the unifying Arab efforts for better Environment of Arab Home towards Environment ..adding that Environment protection is a national and Humanitarian Duty.
The minister indicated to the Contributions of Oil Operating Companies In Syria in Environment protection to achieve Sustainable development by supporting Environment ‘s activities in all Syrian Provinces.
The minister highlights the importance of Environment Education in reducing the Environment problems that threat the Humankind life .
Dr.Feras Kaddour Head of Deir al-Zour Board Oil company, and Representative of Oil Operating Companies In Syria stressed that Companies follow specific strategies and policies side by side with its active and responsible involvement in oil and gas industry and achieving high level of Environment protection and natural materials.
He added that Oil Operating Companies In Syria did their best to involve society by experts in Environment protection and Sustainable development and contribute and participate in all conferences ,symposiums and workshops to develop the work reality in addition to work on bring out Environment awareness in school classes by continuous Awareness campaigns in Deir al-Zour since 2000 and support the Environment activities in provinces by offering support.
The participants then give an Environment march in the Province’s streets ended by opening of “Environment for everyone ” Park that Total E&P Syrie, Syria Shell, al-Furat and Deir al-zour oil companies contributed in its establishing.
