Noor company: economic feasibility study proved that the Deir Al-Zour refinery project bring great benefit to Syria

Noor company announced finalizing economic feasibility study of Deir Al-Zour refinery after it was approved by refinery commission in oil and mineral resources ministry.

 

The company said in a statement that the results of this study was very encouraging since proved that the project bring great benefit to Syria in many respects and contribute to meet the needs of Syria oil derivatives that are increasingly in demand because of the continuing industrial growth witnessed by the expansion of housing planned over the few Coming years.

The statement said that the existence of such project would contribute to reducing the import of oil derivatives from abroad, particularly diesel fuel, which is backed by the government. As well as the importance of the project lies in creating job opportunities for local laborers, especially from areas adjacent to the refinery in addition to providing indirectly jobs through complementary and service industries that arise with the start of building work in and operate the refinery as well as material profit achieved by the project to investors in general.

Mohamed Ahmad Ibrahim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Noor petroluem company said that the company will take rapid steps to implement the project, first of all to initiate legislation and call for institutional investors, companies and Syrian, Arab,and world companies and inviting the Syrian citizens for public subscription of the founding of Deir Al-Zour refinery company and move forward in Building steps liquidated without delay.

Ibrahim said that the company Noor is seeking through Deir Al-Zour refinery project to contribute to the further growth of industrial added value and the composition of Syria, in the context of the ambitious industrial plan adopted by pointing out that Noor petroluem company will work to attract specialized companies to implement the project in accordance with the best quality standards And environmental requirements.

It is noteworthy , that the Ministry of Oil has agreed to the study by the company British company WOOD MACKENZY which is one of the world major companies specialized in this area. Note that this review included extracts refinery in terms of quality and quantity and Syria needs for these products with a focus on environmental protection in particular.
 Noor company, the Kuwaiti Financial Investment company have signed in May ,2007 a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Oil and Mineral resources in Syria whereby the company Nour create a financial coalition led by comprises businessmen, government institutions,Syriaian and Arab and foreign companies aiming to establish and operating of Deir Al-Zour refinery with estimated power / 140 / Thousand barrels per day.
