GPC, Egyptian General Petroleum Body and Egyptian Gas Holding Company signed an agreement about gas exchange and shipping.

The Syrian side, based on this agreement will receive 600 million standard cubic meters of Egyptian natural gas a year on the Syrian Jordanian boarders with an increase on the specific quantities for Syria according to signed gas selling contract. The two parts will exchange the received Egyptian Gas that will cover the Syrian South area and delivering the Lebanese part same quantities in the thermometric value of Syrian gas produced in East or central area on the Syrian- Jordanian boarders.

 
The agreement period is 15 contracted years and can be extended for additional periods according to previous written mutual contract between the two parts with period not less than 18 months before the end of the agreement.

The agreement defined the costs of Egyptian gas shipping to Lebanon according to International common trade principles in natural gas industry and shipping.

 
The agreement will reconsidered the fee of periodical gas shipping every three years.

The agreement contained some points related to technical and contract adherence and paying ways and conflict settling conditions ,etc.. according to the international agreements.

 
This agreement will provide an additional revenue to the national economy through the fees of shipping.
