AFPC held annual meeting of shareholders in Mashta al-Helo with presence of Eng. Sufian Allaw Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources.

The company stressed that it could increase its production of oil by 9000 barrel a day above the 2008 plan. And it expected to incease the production by 4000 bd above 2009 plan and it added to the improved reserve all what was produced and achieved save of operational expenditures by 10%.

Allaw stressed the importance of this meeting to review the company’s activities and attitude during the year and discuss the presumed plans for coming years that can improve the company work indicating to the importance of stick to decreasing the operational expenditures and work on decreasing experts numbers in the company and replace them with national staffs.

Saeed Huneedi Head of AFPC Board said that the company will stick to implement all the recommendations that lead to decrease the operational expenditures in coordination with GPC by workshops will be held for this goal in order to keep AFPC the pioneer in and out side Syria.

In the meeting , the work plan was presented and it was discussed . it contained the company’s activities during the coming Five-Year Plan 2010 -2014 with the operational and capital budget and the financial report for 2008. the work plan was adopted .in addition to the human resources and training programs for the new graduated and other projects.

 The shareholders discussed issues raised in their meeting and submit their proposals aimed at forcing the pace of work in the company forward and achieve best results with an emphasis on the need to adhere to all international standards adopted in the areas of security and safety and the preservation of the integrity of the environment.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Hasan Zainab Oil Minister assistant ,Eng. Ali Abbas GM.GPC, Omer al –Hamad GM.SPC, Ola Mclistad Syria Shell GM deputy ,Sulaiman Abbas Planning Director in SPC, members of al-Furat board and shares holders representatives.
