Mohammad Naji Otari, Prime Minister nominated Nour Eddine Makhlouf as a Director General of oil refining corporation , in stead of Eng. Abdo Hussameddin and Eng. Akram Sultan who was the manager of power plant in Homs as refinery Director-General of Homs refinery.
It should be noted that President Bashar Assad has issued a legislative decree No. / 14 / 2009 for the creation of a public institution of oil refining and distribution of oil derivatives.
The new decree is restructuring the refining and distribution of petroleum and petroleum products sector, through the creation of General corporation for Oil Refining and distribution of petroleum products, which will be administrative and technical reference for companies and projects of refining and distribution of existing and future will be followed by both Homs and Banias refineries , the Storage and Distribution of petroleum products /Mahroukat / The Syrian Company for Gas Distribution.
Eng.Makhluf was born in Homs 1955 Married, three children received a chemical engineering degree from the Faculty of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering – University of the Baath – 1980. speaks fluent English, French post of Director-General of the Homs refinery from November 2006 till he was named as general manager of the Foundation Assembly of the oil refinery.
Eng. Sultan was born in Talv of the city of Hama, 1959, holds a mechanical engineering from the University of Aleppo in 1982 served as Associate Director for Energy and the Director-General of the Homs refinery since 18/12/2005 till was assigned as general manager of the refinery.
