Total expects to establish UAE nuclear project in the second half of the Year

A senior official company in Total giant French oil company said it was likely to sign a contract with United Arab Emirates to build two nuclear reactors in the second half of 2009.
“Jean-Jacques Musconi director of strategy and planning in Total said at the Reuters Global Energy summit that Total developed a joint bid with the G. D. F Suez hopes to win the project, valued at billions of dollars.
“Yes, we hope on the decision. We know that there is competition but we believe that we have a good case to be submitted to the Abu Dhabi because we have worked there for decades in land and marine projects.
“they Know that we are good partners in project management.”
Musconi added that the National Electricity Company will own 51 percent of shares in the project, while Total will share J. D.F Suez the remaining shares in the case of they won the deal.
He declined to give further details on how the two French companies will share the remaining shares.
He also said Areva company for the manufacture of nuclear reactors will be engineering work, while the French electricity group A. D. F will give technical assistance but will not acquire shares in the project.
