Eng.Sufian Allaw Minister of oil and Mineral resources discussed with Eng. Hussain Arnous Deir al-ZourGovernor oil reality in province and the ways of get advantages of some oil companies’ grants to help in service and developing projects and implementing of rehabilitating and training programs to benefit to the province citizens.

Allaw said that Shell and Total will grant Deir al-Zour about 4 million $ a year to use in service projects indicating that the grant may be raised to 6 million $ a year if oil prices rose during the coming ten years. Where as Total will start its grant on 2011 at the date of extension its contracts in Syria.

The Minister stressed on the need of coordinating between the companies and Province in order to make use of these grants in important projects calling on specifying part of these grants to rehabilitation, training and HR developing programs. As well as supporting al-Furat University particularly the Petroleum and Petrochemical Departments.

Implementing 10 treatment plants along of the river in al-Mayadeen , al-kasra line, Lahtta , al-Husayneeah and al-salheyah and Deir al-Zour main plant, in addition to medical wastes recycling plants in Deir al-Zour hospitals , desert and animal resources development, implementing of infants hospital in Deir al-zour hospital as well as expanding agriculture lands project in modern irrigation ways .
