Shahristani: Iraq’s oil imports amounted to (52) billion dinars

Dr. Hussein Shahristani, oil minister said higher crude oil prices helped Iraq a lot this year and even at the level of production, was due to Iraq produces 2,008 within a budget agreement with the International Monetary Fund (1.7) million barrels per day, but the rate of annual production reached (1.880 ) Million barrels per day, or complete (111%) or increase (11%) and for export was higher than expected increase (200%).
The rate of sale prices (100) dollars a barrel, the Iraqi budget to be achieved double the amount it was scheduled to be Iraq’s imports of oil (35) billion dollars, while as at present – November 2008 (52) billion
It is expected to reach the end of this year (60) billion dollars, up (25) billion dollars.
He said, adding that it came as the oil side, there will be highly appreciated by the International Monetary Fund because of the achievements of the Fund and reminding them of the significant progress in waste and stop the smuggling, distribution and resolve the problem of excess in particular the question of import of products which decreased significantly ..
Shahristani said that the ministry was no longer receiving any support to derivatives does not import a quarter of the previous amount was estimated (5) billion dollars, there is no crisis or bottlenecks in the distribution and processing owing to the availability of the product in Iraq normally.
