A press conference Held on Thursday 4-16 marking the launch of a project East pioneer, which organized by the cooperation between the Syrian Association for Youth Entrepreneurs / SYEA / and Total E&P Syrie in Masaya club in Deir al-Zour

General chief of SYEA Abdel Salam Heikal emphasized in his speech during the conference that SYEA, which was founded some seven years ago by encouraging young people to undertake projects of their own and officially five years ago is today one of the basic references for the pioneering work in Syria, through activities and initiatives carried out by this project East pioneer is one of them.

Heikal clarified the meaning of the term / entrepreneurship / and its evolution over time, stressing that this project will be the first time in this province but it was organized twice during / 2008.2009 / in Damascus was a central project and the participation was open to people of all provinces .

While Mohamed Najem project manager said that a particular project and the allocation of Deir Zor Award winner to do another project and the budget for training and rehabilitation must be considered as indicators of when to stop and made his offer tariff and objectives of the project and age groups that are entitled to participate the competition and the stages through which the contestants before they reach the Arbitration Commission, which is evaluating the projects submitted and the selection of the idea will win the prize.

Najem indicated that the period of the receipt of applications submitted for the competition which will start on 18/4 and continues until 31/5 and then the verification of applications and adapted to the conditions of competition for applicants who have entered into the competition conditions and competition, the idea is the pioneer of the ten projects will be presented to the candidate of the judging panel which will award the best idea of the amount of one million Syrian pounds, in 4/10/2009.

While Chief of the association branch in Deir Al-Zour, Eng Reem Ali thanks Total E& P Syrie for sponsoring this project, which contributes to the development of the region.

It is the first time are East pioneers competition is held in Deir Al-Zour, which is to maintain second in the organization of the competition after Damascus.

It is note worthy that / SYEA /has launched / East Pioneers/in East region due to demand of Total E& P Syrie as a part of Total E& P Syrie social responsibility to support this area.

TOTAL E&P SYRIE, a subsidiary of the French Group TOTAL, started its operations in 1988 in the Deir Ez Zor permit after signing a Production Sharing Agreement in December 1988.

Production started in the early 1990s through the Operating Company Deir Ez Zor Petroleum Company (DEZPC). Total has invested around 1200 million USD in Syria for exploration and production activities and discovered 350 million barrels of oil equivalent. Present production level is around 30,000 bopd, with an accumulated production exceeding 250 million barrels in the 4th quarter 2007.

In addition to its Exploration and production activities TOTAL E&P SYRIE supports a number of Sustainable Development projects in Health, Environment, Education, cultural heritage and Local Economic Development especially in Deir Ez Zor area, in cooperation with the local entities and international organizations working in Syria.
