A meeting attended by Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Sufian Allaw, Governor of Deir Al-Zour Arnous Hussein with the managers of companies operating in Syria and the directors of government departments in the provinces focused on ways to determine the location of the refinery, the establishment of joint ventures with China in Abu Khashab province.

The participants reviewed the details of a project and the note by the director of the industrial city in Deir al-Zour relating to object to the current location of the refinery, located near the industrial city and its request to remove the site to a distance of about five kilometers.
