Investment High Council during its meeting headed by Premier Mohammed Naji Ottri on 8/4/2009 agreed on a memorandum of Syrian Investment Body to give Total French Company distinctions of 5 subject of Investment Law NO.10 of 2008 about mineral oil mix project.

Total signed with oil and mineral resources ministry on last September three agreements about :
-strategic cooperation framework agreement between the Syrian Oil Company and Total
– Protocol to extend production-sharing agreement between the Syrian Oil Company and Total.
– Agreement to develop and Invest Tabbia gas field between the Syrian Gas Company and Total.

Total company recently received ISO 14001 in 2004 in line with international standards for environmental management systems is the first company Oil in Syria receive this certificate.

It is noteworthy that Total begun its work in Syria since in 1988 through operating excellence through the Deir Al-Zour oil company which is a joint venture (50% Total, 50% Syrian Oil Company), where production was produced by Total group in Syria 29 thousand barrels of oil per day in 2007.
