Jordan agreed with International Companies to develop gas field

Jordanian oil ministry announced an agreement for strategic partnership with British Petroleum Company and four other allied companies to develop al-Risha gas field in Jordan.
Jordanian oil minister Khaldoun Qutaishat said that partnership agreement will be signed before the end of this month, final negotiations are going on.
Qutaishat clarified that the agreement will be the most important one in Jordanian gas investment sector.
Qutaishat said that the British company and its other allied companies will expend about 237 million dollars for 3 years in first phase aimed to exploring al-Risha field.
The minister said that based on first Phase results , the second phase will start using modern technology and include investing of two billion dollars and may high to reach 8 billion dollars.
He added that evaluation results of al-Risha field indicated that its production is about 18 million cubic feet of gas.
