oil prices dropped ahead of OPEC’s meeting

World oil prices have plummeted the day before the meeting of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) in the Austrian capital, amid expectations that stockpiles of oil, down to the developed countries in the event of the organization’s commitment to reduce production rates agreed upon.

 

According to the figures recorded on Friday, U.S. light crude fell futures contract April delivery up 24 cents to 46.79 dollars a barrel after record jump at 4.70 dollars on Thursday and reached to 47.03 dollars, offsetting losses in the previous two sessions.

 
Down Brent crude up 43 cents to 46.66 dollars per barrel.

 
General Secretariat of the Petroleum Exporting Countries on Friday said that reduced the price of a barrel of crude oil to 42.14 dollars a retreat of 56 cents from the previous day, noting that the OPEC crude basket price is calculated based on 12 species.

 
It is noteworthy that crude oil prices fluctuated since the beginning of this year, between 33 and $ 50 applied after OPEC decision to cut production to stem falling prices, which reached its peak last July when it exceeded the ceiling of $ 147.
