Consumer Protection Society demanding cut energy prices
Consumer Protection society chairman Adnan Dakhakheeni Said “The Assembly calls upon the Government to reduce energy prices because of low world prices, as this action has positive impacts on citizens, especially since the State does not have a significant burden.”
Dakhakheeni said that “reduce the price of fuel is natural, of course, a key matter of the day, because of its significant impacts on the citizens in various segments of the poor class, which have the biggest impact on the rich class.”
The government raised the prices of various types of energy during past year, most recently raising the price of diesel in last May from 7 SP pounds for a liter to 25 SP.
Dakhakheeni demanded as well that “The prices to turn as it was, or re-examination to be slightly higher than it was,” pointing out that “the decline in fuel prices is the engine that will reduce the rest of prices, and the decision today, however, is in the government’s hands .”
According to official reports earlier that industrial exports fell by around 20% during the last quarter of last year, while domestic markets suffered from the inertia of the sale and purchase, despite the wave of reductions in the markets, observers attributed to the weakness of the purchasing power of the citizen.
