GolfSands: plans digging 3 new oil wells in Syria

Oil company GolfSands said it “intends to drilling 3 new wells in of Khorepett 26 oil field in the region in north-east of Syria to increase oil production to 18 thousand barrels.”

 

Khorepett field produces approximately 10,500 barrels a day from about 5 oil wells, while the total cumulative production of the company about 2 million barrels.

 
GolfSands completed about 30% of the seismic survey on an area of 640 square kilometers in the region 26 in order to search for new opportunities available to the existence of oil wells.

 
The British company started last January of the survey using the 3 D seismic program, expected to be completed surveys before the end of next May.

 
In the same part, the British company said that “to assess the results of recent drilling operations in the oil field of Yusufiya – 2, which reached the target depth, and the encouraging performance of the test field Yusufiya – 1 was better than expected.”

 
The field is located Yusufiya – 2, after 1.8 km to the east of the field Yusufiya – 1, which are located in 26 area in the north-eastern Syria, as the depth of drilling to 2,070 meters.

 
The evaluation of the test field Yusufiya – 1 better than expected in the performance of the reservoir, and now plans to re-Sands Golf action to isolate the water producing zone prior to the commencement of production from the well.

 
It is noteworthy that the British company Gulf Sands started the production of an oil drilled wells in the region 26 north-eastern Syria and that as of last September and the rate of 11,150 barrels per day is expected to rise to 20 million barrels with a possibility of drilling more wells in the field who explore Khorepett exploits it.
Gulf Sands, early in last year signed an agreement with Cham Holding company for investments in oil and energy fields in Syria, Iraq and in the framework of the plan include extensive exploration in large areas within Syria as well as exploration in the Syrian regional waters, which looks to Gulf Sands also within the plan work in Syria.
