Eng. Omer al-Hamad Director General of the Syrian petroleum Company, said that the company is currently working on modernization its equipments at adding new and sophisticated equipments in order to increase the geological reserves of oil and gas to supplement the current reserves in Syria and to increase yield viable production from current investing fields.

He said in a statement today that the most important objectives of the company at the current stage of the rehabilitation and resettlement of technical personnel, development and conservation technologies to keep pace with modern art and science and create the right conditions for them to engage effectively in the areas of scientific research in order to confront future challenges the company successfully and achieve its objectives.

 
He said that the SPC had entered into three contracts for the development and production of oil by a contract with the national company and two Chinese companies with a view to the application of the Dublin production methods and other subsidized oil to raise the achievement of the productive classes in the areas for decades.

 
He added that the company has established companies to provide oil services company like Ebla , a joint venture with Egyptian “Emek” and Palmyra ,Joint venture with / Ornett company / in order to provide engineering services for the drilling fluids and borehole measurements to provide services.

 
“The company is conducting geophysical surveys by the two divisions, the Task Force Survey two-dimensional and three-dimensional survey, where the company has achieved through the exploration of the many new discoveries in the areas of al-frqls – al-arc – East al-jbsih have been drilling a total of / 163 / meters linear through the number of wells in 2008 / 82 / exploratory and productive wells.

 
He added that the productivity of the company in recent years, increased from 190 thousand barrels per day in 2005 to 196 thousand barrels per day in 2008, as well as gas production, with an average natural gas production in the 2008/15 year / million cubic meters per day.

 
It should be noted that the SPC carried out its plan in the production of crude oil by 99 percent of the amount of production have been 71543733 barrels compared to 72261832 barrels planned and include the amount of oil production executing 67824334 barrels of oil a heavy and light crude oil for 3719399 and the company has made in the drilling plan by 115 percent have been in the drilling exploratory drilling of 26,839 meters, compared to 26000 meters, “The planned rate of execution of exploratory drilling 103 percent.
