Allaw: Petrochemical industry became one of the main base of international economy

Al-Baath University in Homs opened first international conference for petrochemical engineering which held in the cooperation between university and Syrian engineers union.

Sufian Allaw minister of oil and mineral resources stressed on the importance of this holding conference in Homs ,home of petrochemical industry with its first oil refinery and main compound for chemical fertilizers and other important establishments.

Allaw said that Petrochemical industry became one of the main base of international economy due to its variety in productions which are more than 30 kind.
This industry developed rapidly in Syria and Arab world due to availability of raw materials with cheap prices in addition to facilitates given by Syrian government that help this sector to play strategic role in economic resources development.

Allaw noted to the need that the conference resulted in good political and strategic perspectives help the petrochemical industry and developing expert human resources to achieve competence in attitudes.

On his part.Amer Fakhoury chairman of al-Baath University stressed on the importance of this conference which represents fruit of cooperation between university and Syrian engineers union to help in addressing important and scientific areas in chemical engineering with participation of local and international experts.

Conference started its agenda by a lecture introduced by Allae about oil Technology development and future horizons. Followed by opening of Industrial and chemical companies exhibition on the margin of the conference with participation of 20 companies.
