Syria Shell Company launched set of lectures on road safety rules and the need of stick on it to reduce accidents. International champion Basel Shaaban introduced these lectures within activities presented by Shell Program for road safety in Middle East.

In the lectures, which held in Arab culture center in Kafersusah , the UN ambassador to Middle East for road safety Shabban presented rules of road safety and the need to stick on to have safe driving free of accidents or damages .. He as well gave examples on the main reasons of accident in world and Middle East and the UN and WHO Statistics about accidents, victims, and injuries.

 
Shaaban presented his experience in driving and his participation in championships including the accident that he faced which affect on his view about driving.

General Farouq Moselli Manager of Traffic department stressed in his lecture that the number of victims of traffic accidents reduced by /12.44/ percent and the injuries by /18.57/ percent after 8 months of implantation of the new traffic law compared with the same period in 2007.

Moselli clarified that the violation traffic number reduced by 24 percent compared by the same period in 2007 which indicated the importance of this new law.

 
Moselli stressed on the importance of these lectures introduced by Shell in raising the awareness of road safety.

Omer Basha chief of Syrian Cars Club presented the club activities in the field of road safety by launching campaign among public, schools and private organization.

Syria Shell in cooperation with Syrian education Ministry offered a presentation on road safety in Arab culture center in Adawi on 3/2/ 2009 attended by Ayman Yaseen assistant of Damascus education department and Ghaleb Sulaiman Deputy of general manager of Syria Shell and group of students and schools stuffs.

This program tends to cooperation between local and international organization to increase the public awareness for road safety.

It is worthy to note that Champion Shaaban participated in Formula3 for two years and recently joined Italian Prima Power team . He is the first Arabic champion in this formula.

Shell sponsors road safety awareness campaign in Middle east contains various activities by Shaaban.

These lecture are part of Syria Shell commitment to increase the local society awareness for road safety .
