Tunisia reduced the prices of petroleum products in line with market

Tunisia announced on Friday a reduction of prices of petroleum products by between 4% and 5%, which is a precedent,since the retreat of oil prices in global markets.

 

According to Tunisian Ministry of Industry and Energy in a statement that included a reduction in gasoline prices and the excellent and regular diesel, and the price of a liter of gasoline became 1.27 dinars (0,927 dollars) instead of 1.32 dinars.

 
The reduction came after Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali ordered two days ago, the introduction of amendments to the prices in line with the evolution of world prices and the requirements of the general balance of the country.

 
This is the first step of its kind in the country after the Government has in recent years to increase the price of petroleum products in line with the evolution of prices in global markets to maintain the balance of financial and process development.

 
The government says that all the rise of one dollar in the price of a barrel lead to additional burden on the state budget amounted to some 35 million dinars.
