Syria Shell launchs Intilaaqah Syria” to train young people on self-employment concept
Syria Shell Petroleum Development Sponsored and funding finalized all necessary arrangements to start the project of ” Intilaaqah Syria,” including the holding of the first training course to evaluate the program entitled “Managing small projects” Before the start of the project officially .
The “Intilaaqah Syria” is a social initiative of Syria Shell Petroleum Development to provide technical support and help young people interested in serious Syrian in establishment of their projects which is a belief from the company of the importance of developing the skills of Syrian youth as an essential part of its responsibility towards the development of Syrian society in general and support small and medium enterprises in particular.
The program was established as Shell, “Live Wire” is an international initiative developed by Shell around the world, where the program is working in many countries in the world and Arab countries (Egypt – Oman – Libya – Qatar – United Arab Emirates).
Memorandum of understanding was signed in 2008 between the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and Syria Shell Petroleum Development support of the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources of the launch of the (starting) in Syria, where Syria Shellfunding for training courses in entrepreneurship.
The program aims to encourage young people to consider the option of Syrian self-employment and entrepreneurship, and give young people wishing to establish small projects the opportunity to benefit from past experience in this area and gain experience necessary for a successful small project which provides employment opportunities for them and others as well.

Program provides the following services free of charge:
- Programs and campaigns to educate young people about entrepreneurship ,self-employment and creation of small projects
- Specialized training programs to develop the skills of young people for establishment and management of small projects
- The provision of advisory services to young entrepreneurs after obtaining training helps them to start their own projects.
Mr. Oulai Miclestad, general manager of Syria Shell was pleased to launch the program, in a speech to young men and women participants in the training session, urging them to insist on success and self-sustained development.
Mr. Ghalib Sulaiman , deputy general manager of Syria Shell , director of communications in the company, said that training is an essential component to create small projects and young people should be given the basic skills to create a small project .
For its part Ms. Lina Abdul Khaliq, director of “Intilaaqah Syria” asssured the importance of this program that provides young entrepreneurs with basic skills and knowledge necessary to start a project small or medium-sized more chance of success of these projects.
The program will provide training courses throughout the year at specific times of the young men and women who were eligible to join the program.
