Eng. / Sufian Allao / Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources discussed today with / Faisal Abbas / Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Algeria aspects of cooperation between Syria and Algeria in the fields of oil, gas and mineral resources.

The two sides discussed the possibility of cooperation with the Algerian oil company / Sonatrach / in the procurement of oil products and benefit from Algeria’s experience in the operation of gas networks and the use of gas in homes and means of transport in addition to cooperation in exploration oil and gas and phosphate and asphalt investment .

 
The two sides also discussed the possibility of training cadres in the Syrian institutes and training centers as well as Algeria and the Algerian personnel training centers in the Syrian specialized training to benefit from Algeria’s experience in the marketing of gas and transportation and gas sale contracts.

The two sides agreed to renew the protocol signed earlier cooperation between the ministries of the Syrian Oil and Energy and Mines of Algeria.

 
Al-Allao called Algerian companies to participate in the bids announced by the Ministry of Oil to explore for oil and gas in the Syrian territories, especially in the sea in addition to contributing to the implementation of projects using natural gas transportation and homes.

 
The meeting was attended by Dr. Hassan Zeinab assistant of Oil Minister and Omar Al-Hamad Director General of the Syrian Oil Company ,Eng. Ali Abbas, Director General of the Syrian Gas Company.
