Syrian Cabinet approved during its session on Tuesday to increase the selling prices of fuel by 3000 Syrian pounds per ton. The new prices be applied on both public and private sectors as 1st of next December.

The Council approval on the recommendations of the Economic Committee, which recommended to “increase the selling price of fuel from 6000 to 0 o ton in 9000 SP. per ton.

 
The Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources submitted a memorandum to the government included indicators of increased demand for consumption of fuel oil in the domestic industrial markets.

 
The Council requested the ministries “of oil and industry to prepare a detailed study for ten days on the industrial facilities that use fuel and the quantities needed and the support that given to them in this area.”

 
Eng. Sufian Allao Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources said in previous statements that high diesel prices led to increased demand for the fuel, and the need of licensed facilities – according to licensing – / 936 / tons annually.
