Oil Price Slips, Energy Stocks Mixed
Category: World Oil & Gas news | Posted on: 23-08-2011The price of futures Asian Nymex Crude oil was at USD 84.10 per bbl, down slightly 0.02% from previous settlement, while the Natural Gas slipped 0.08% to USD 3.89 per MMBtu.
Heating Oil and Gasoline were settled at USD 2.93 and 2.84 per gallon respectively. The oil and gas stocks around the world were mixed.
In Jakarta, Elnusa and Radiant dropped 2.08% and 1.54%, while Energi Mega and Medco gained 0.52% and 2.08% respectively. The others were unchanged. In regional market, oil and gas stocks were gained 1-2%, led by Australian Santos 3.25%, and Petrochina 2.14%.
Oil and gas stocks in the NYSE were mixed. ENI surged 6.96%, while Total and Shell gained above 2%. On the other hand, Anadarko, Petrobras and StatOil dropped 1.00%, 1.03%, and 1.63% each.
Coal stocks in Jakarta fell 1-2%, or stagnant. The stocks gained more than 1% were Borneo, United Tractors, Adaro, and indo tambangraya. While Garda Tujuh Buana extended gain of 6.67%.
In regional market, coal stocks were in green, led by Gloucester 5.83%, and White Haven 3.29%. While Yanzhou Coal and StraitsAsia dropped 1.43%, and 1.22%. In the United States, coal stocks dropped above 2%
