1.8 billion tons of phosphate reserves in Palmyra
Crude phosphate reserves amounted in the Eastern region Palmyra about 1.8 billion tons which produces of ordinary and rinsed phosphate about 3 million tons annually and produces 2.5 million tons for export and the rest is used to provide fertilizer plant for the production of Homs fertilizer phosphate.
The public company of phosphate and mines plans to establish two factories for phosphate with estimated power of 2.7 million tons annually to meet the needs of manufacturing raw materials for the production of phosphate fertilizers and setting up a factory in the phosphate mines.
On the other hand reserve of quartz sand in Qaryatain was 150 million tons for industrial purposes in porcelain, ceramics, glass, cement and other ordinary Company has included in its plan for the phosphate project to create a unit and improving the specifications of purification and concentration of Qaryatain quartz sand mining in order to produce 200 thousand tons annually of Sands deal swashing , clean and free of impurities to meet the needs of the development of local industries.
