Shell Syria Celebrates Shell Safety Day 2011

As part of celebrating the Safety Day at Shell around the world, Shell Syria celebrated on 8 June 2011, The Country Chair of Shell Syria Petroleum Development B.V. Mr. Graham Henley started the day by emphasizing on Shell Safety principles and the significance of adherence to the safety standards at work and daily life, and to ensure adopting the best practices to secure the safe working conditions at all times for staff and contractors.

 

The safety rules includes the following: Compliance with laws, standards and procedures, – Intervention in case the actions are not in conformity with the safety rules, and – Respect for everything around us. The safety day is culmination for the annual safety campaign by Shell aiming to increase the awareness and commitment among staff and contractors by safety principles.

 

 

On 8 June, the head of health, Safety and environment Abdul Majid Houri presented the Shell Safety Journey since 2007 to achieve Goal Zero. These efforts led the company to achieve 5.9 million hours without lost time injury on 1 June 2011.

 

 

Also, each of Mr. Mahmoud Assali and Mr. Nabil Nahleh were honored as the best drivers in the company for April and May 2011.
